- Game Info: Fun, casual game; Mostly beginners with one or two experienced regulars. Dropins are always welcome, but you may want to shoot me an e-mail to add you to our players list in case of cancelation or location updates. We generally dont play in the rain or high winds.

Beginners’ Clinics
For those who are new to the sport or for those who want to help teach other beginners about ultimate!
* Wednesdays, June 18 and June 25 from 6pm - 8pm at Lums Pond State Park, Area 3 (football field on the left)
* Come to one clinic or both and learn: forehand and backhand throws, basic defense (marking, person-to-person defense, defensive positioning), basic offense (stacking, throwing to a moving receiver, cutting), and play in a short scrimmage!
* Bring sneakers (cleats if you have them), clothes appropriate for running, and water.
* There is no advance registration and no fee!
Registration Information
Registration for this league is on going. Late registrations will be accepted throughout the season, though dues will not be pro-rated or discounted for late registrations. Once you have registered, please email josh at delawareultimate.com to be placed on a team.
Cost is $10 per person + $10 annual Philadelphia Area Disc Alliance (PADA) membership fee (which covers insurance for this and all future leagues for 2008). Registration includes an official disc with the Delaware Ultimate logo.
Steps for registering:

2. If you are not already a PADA member, add PADA membership to shopping cart and electronically sign release. (If you participated in the Spring League you can skip this step)

What is Ultimate?
Ultimate is a fast-paced, non-contact team sport that combines many athletic skills; the sprinting and cutting of soccer, vertical nature of volleyball and basketball, not to mention the awe-inspiring lay-out grabs of football! This sport of non-stop movement is often compared to football as the object of the game is to score by catching a pass in the opponents’ end zone. However, players may not run with the disc, but may pivot and pass the disc in any direction. Play transitions from one team to another when a pass is dropped or intercepted, caught or thrown out of bounds, or when a player holds the disc for more than ten seconds. You might say that the sport takes minutes to learn and a lifetime to master…try playing a few times, and you just might find out why! Check out this fact sheet for ultimate in ten simple rules.
How can I get involved?
Ultimate is played by thousands of people worldwide. In the US, the Ultimate Players Association, or UPA, is the sport’s governing body. The UPA maintains the sport’s official rules and sponsors official championships series’ at the high school, college, club, and masters levels, with separate men’s, women’s, or mixed (co-ed) divisions at each level. Play at this level typciall involves try-outs, conditioning practices, and travel to play other competitive teams.
Additionally, numerous cities across the country offer league play. Leagues provide organized play with regularly scheduled games over the course of a season, typically spring, summer, fall, and winter, and usually have a registration fee. The new Delaware Ultimate league will be a co-ed league, with a spring season. Specific games times will be announced shortly.
