Pick-Up

Pick-up games are a great way to get involved in Ultimate.  Pick-up games have no set teams and folks come and go from week to week.  Most Delaware pick-up games are beginner friendly, thus offering folks a chance to try out the sport without a lot of commitment.  Below is a listing of several games in Delaware.  If you have questions, contact the organizer listed.  For week to week announcements about ultimate in Delaware, join the Yahoo Group mailing list on the right side of the page.  If you would like to add a pick-up game to the listing, contact patrick at delaware ultimate dot com.

Lums Pond

  • Where: Lums Pond State Park, Main Entrance, Area 3 (football field on the left)
  • When: Mondays, beginning March 15, 2010 at 5:30pm

Arden

  • Where: Arden
  • Directions: 95 N to Harvey Road, L on Harvey Rd, Right on Orleans Rd. (fourth light), Rt at dead end, field on the left (at the far end, next to the playground equipment)
  • When: Spring and Fall–Saturday 11am | Summer–Monday and Thursday 6pm

  • Currently (as of 9/25/09) Saturdays until summer.  Generally does not play in inclement weather.

Pike Creek

  • Game Info: Fun, casual game; Mostly beginners with one or two experienced regulars. Dropins are always welcome, but you may want to shoot me an e-mail to add you to our players list in case of cancelation or location updates. We generally dont play in the rain or high winds.

Rockford Park

  • Game Info:  Fun, competitive game that follows current UPA rules and strategy. This game plays when league is not happening.

  • Where: Rockford Park, Wilmington (At the Top of Tower Hill)

Rehoboth Beach

  • Game Info:  Seasonal game;  Will start up again in the spring/summer
  • Who: Everyone of any skill level is welcome.
  • When: Sundays at 12:00pm
  • Where: Truitts Park;  South on Rt. 1, pass exit 1A into downtown Rehoboth Beach over the Lewes-Rehoboth Rt. 1 canal bridge.  The fields are located on the left behind the Carriage House (an upscale car dealer) next to Rehoboth Elementary School.  Circle around the basketball courts onto the dirt road- best parking under the umbrella trees next to field.
